Known originally as Mr. D's Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D's was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. Founder and restaurateur Shane Nasby named the restaurant in honor of his late grandpa, Cledis Nolen, who owned and operated the Midway Cafe in Charlottesville, Indiana throughout Shane’s childhood. Inspired by his memories of growing up in a small town, Shane designed Cledis as an homage to a slower and simpler time when sharing a meal at a local restaurant was a way for neighbors to stay connected with one another.
Shane also hopes to carry on his grandpa’s legacy of unwavering kindness and generosity. Going beyond serving great food, Cledis is on a mission to combat hunger and hopelessness in our city. We proudly partner with People Loving Nashville and give our time and resources toward their programs which offer relief, relationship, and restoration for our hungry and unhoused neighbors.

ABOUT from web:
FOR THE LOVE OF WINE AND THE THREAT OF EXILE…
With time running out until he was deported back to Canada, Tyler Alkins had to start a new business or be forced to leave the place he called home in Nashville, TN. So he decided to do what he always dreamed; make wine. Though Tennessee is better known for whiskey, Tyler saw an opportunity to create a wine that was approachable in its taste, price, and presentation. So he recruited some of the most well-known winemakers from Italy and California to teach him processes perfected over centuries to create a wine that’s expertly crafted and perfectly chuggable. he wine they create together is brought back to Nashville where it is finished and bottled or canned locally in a winery that Tyler and the small team built in an abandoned car garage less than a mile from downtown originally called Nashville Urban Winery.
In March of 2020 a tornado ripped through Nashville Urban Winery and destroyed the bar/shop side of the winery. After almost two years and a complete overhaul of the building; Tyler decided to name the bar after the wine made inside. Love and Exile Bar was born in September of 2021 and is now a restaurant + bar, event space, winery that sells the full line of Love and Exile wines.

TEDxNashville: Mixtape – Every Story Has A Song
Details + RSVP Here!
Join us for another TedxNashville talk... Mixtape – Every Story Has A Song!
ABOUT:
Can music bridge the distance between two very different lives?
In this live experiment, Come Together Music Project founder Shaka Mitchell invites two guests from opposite worlds to answer a series of personal questions — where every answer must be a song.
As the conversation unfolds, we’ll hear the music, the stories behind it, and the surprising overlaps that emerge along the way. What begins as two distinct playlists slowly becomes a shared soundtrack — revealing how music can connect us across difference, identity, and experience.
This is more than a talk. It’s part listening party, part social experiment, part TED-style exploration of what unites us when words fall short.
And because this is TEDxNashville, the audience plays a role too.
Attendees will receive a prompt to submit their own “song answers” before the event — a few will be featured live, woven into the evening’s dialogue.

The path is a loop that follows the perimeter of the fort, traveling along the deep gorges cut by the rivers on either side of the site. It first goes between the two pedestal mounds flanking an entrance to the enclosure. The entrance was designed to face the exact spot on the horizon where the sun rises during the summer solstice. Step Falls, Blue Hole Falls, and Big Falls can be viewed from the trail, as well as remnants of an old paper mill foundation. Please use caution by the cliff area."

Let's Celebrate: 2025 & 2026
Details + RSVP Here!
Join us on New Year's Eve to celebrate what was 2025, (either the wonderful memories or the fact that it is over), and welcome 2026, a year still full of possibilities and potential!
So many of us are passionate about travel and doing more of it in the next year so I figured this would be the perfect venue to ring in the New Year... in Paris... right from Nashville!
About the event:
"Before the world gets loud, come spend an evening wrapped in candlelight, conversation, and the quiet excitement of what’s to come. Le Réveil — “The Awakening” — is Pont Neuf’s early New Year’s Eve soirée, a celebration of renewal, reflection, and connection before the midnight rush. Settle in with a glass in hand and let the evening unfold at an unhurried pace. We’ll raise a collective toast to the year ahead at 9:30 PM (just in time to celebrate “midnight in Paris”), then send you off glowing.
Drinks & Snacks available for purchase, including floral-inspired cocktails and small bites crafted for lingering.
The vibe: a little shimmer, a little soul — and the feeling of stepping into something new."

About the Venue & Owners:
"Pont Neuf - Our Love Story in Bloom
We got married in Paris, right next to the Pont Neuf bridge, and it was just as dreamy as it sounds. After the ceremony, we gathered with our closest friends and family in the city’s oldest flower shop, surrounded by gorgeous blooms and so much love. That day felt like pure magic, and we knew we wanted to bring a little piece of that back to Nashville. That’s how Pont Neuf was born—named after the bridge where our love story began. We’re all about creating that same joy and beauty here, mixing flowers, friendship, and a bit of Parisian charm into everything we do."

About the Park from the web:
Long Hunter State Park is located in Hermitage, TN. The 2,600 acres which make up this area became a state park in 1974 and has four sections, Couchville, Baker’s Grove, Bryant Grove and Sellars Farm. Long Hunter State Park offers a variety of recreational activities including fishing and hiking and has two boat launch ramps on J. Percy Priest Lake, a group camp, a backcountry campsite, meeting facility and a visitor center. The more than 30 miles of hiking trails provide a variety of terrain and habitats and range from pleasant strolls to longer jaunts for the more adventurous. Trails include a self-guided, paved arboretum trail and the five and a half -mile Volunteer Trail that follows the lakeshore. It is approximately 30 minutes from Nashville.
About the Trail from the web:
Couchville Lake Trail – 2.1 miles - Loop Trail
This flat, paved, mostly shaded trail encircles 110-acre Couchville Lake. This is one of the most popular walks in the state park system due to its accessibility, lakeshore scenery, abundant wildlife, and arboretum. White-tailed Deer and Wild Turkey are common sights here, as are such birds as Great Blue Heron, Prothonotary Warbler, Baltimore Oriole, Hooded Merganser, and Osprey. Occasional/rare sightings include American Bald Eagle, Sandhill Crane, Common Loon, and White Pelican. The nearby water-filled sinkholes result in a variety of frogs and turtles. American Mink has been spotted along the shoreline, and River Otter has been seen in the lake. Wildflowers found along the trail include Mayapple, Mistflower, Green Dragon, and Passionflower. The path is home to Couchville Lake Arboretum, where forty-five species of trees are labeled and identified along the route.
Essential Eligibility Criteria: Travel over asphalt for 2 miles in an estimated 45-90 minutes. Travel over trail for 20 minutes without sitting. Benches are scattered along the trail. Navigate a wooden bridge for 200 feet.

Iceland's beloved Christmas tradition is the Jólabókaflóð, or "Christmas Book Flood," where books are the main Christmas Eve gift, followed by spending the night reading them, often with hot chocolate or treats, creating a cozy literary holiday experience. Enjoy direct views of the pizzaiolo and our Stefano Ferrara Forni handmade wood-fired oven from the dining room or the twelve-seat counter. Chef Sean Brock, Trey Trench, and team’s pizza dough took several years to perfect. It is made with Italian flour and cooked with local hickory and oak, giving the pizzas a subtle hint of Southern flavor. A 72 hour fermentation period in our one-of-a-kind dough room yields a light, airy, and pleasantly chewy pillowy crust that is extremely digestible - all while still tasting indulgent and flavorful.
Tea 101 (Murfreesboro)
Details + RSVP Here!
Join us for a special tea tasting as we dive into the world of teas... Tea 101 at Music City Tea!
ABOUT from web:
Tea tasting is a great way to learn more about fine teas while also experiencing a bit of the tea culture from another country and having fun with your friends. In much the same way that a wine tasting can be a great introduction to new wines as well as a lot of fun, a tea tasting is an enjoyable blend of entertainment and education.
Jinlan (Jenny) is our Chinese tea expert and shop owner. Jenny comes from the area around Wuyishan in Fujian Province in China. Fujian Province is a source of green, white, black, and oolong tea - no other province in China provides four of the major varieties of tea. She had her own tea shop in China and her family is involved in all aspects of growing and manufacturing tea. Jenny specializes in giving tea tastings and, especially, gong fu tea ceremonies. No one we know brings more passion and joy to educating others in how to enjoy tea in the Chinese way. Jenny's family has been growing oolong and black tea for over three generations.
