Dining Around Town: Casual Chain Crawl @ Hattie B's Hot Chicken

Details + RSVP Here!

For 2026 we are introducing a new category of our popular Dining Around Town Series called... Casual Chain Crawl with Cristina!

Since this group began, we have consciously tried to avoid be chain restaurants in favor of supporting small and local businesses. However with such a multicultural group, it is not surprising that multiple members have expressed interest in checking out some of the most popular American chain restaurants as a cultural dining experience of sorts.

One of our most passionate members, "Italian Cristina", has volunteered to host this series and has researched and hand selected the locations which are all over the greater Nashville area.

For this event, we are heading to... Hattie B's Hot Chicken

ABOUT from web:
"LONG BEFORE WE LIT HATTIE'S NAME UP IN NEON OVER A CHICKEN SHACK IN MIDTOWN NASHVILLE, WE WERE A FAMILY WITH DEEP ROOTS IN THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS.
‍In 2006, after a decades-long career in food and hospitality, Nick Bishop Sr. tried to retire. It didn’t take. The next year he opened Bishop’s Meat & 3, an old-school, cafeteria-style restaurant in Franklin, Tenn. Folks started showing up. Around that same time, Nick Jr. wanted a break from the music business in Nashville and joined his Dad behind the counter.
‍Soon after, father and son introduced hot chicken to the menu and began tinkering around with their own spice blend. More folks started showing up. By 2011, the Bishops were offering a variety of heat levels, and the idea for a hot chicken restaurant was born."

Coffee & Conversation @ The Horn

Details + RSVP Here!

We are taking this week's coffee & conversation series to The Horn!

ABOUT from web:
The Horn’s story begins in the 1990s, when our father arrived in Nashville from Somalia and sold sambusas out of the back of his car to support our family. We grew up helping him with folding, frying, and serving, learning the flavors of home and the art of hospitality, one sambusa at a time.

In 2015, we turned those streetside origins into something bigger: a café built on family recipes and tradition. Sambusas paired with Somali chai became the heart of The Horn, offering a space for the community to come together over familiar flavors and warm hospitality.

Today, The Horn is a Nashville staple. It is more than just a place to grab a bite. It is a gathering place where culture, food, and community converge. Guests come for our authentic sambusas and spiced chai, and stay for the welcome that feels like family.

ABOUT from web:
FOR THE LOVE OF WINE AND THE THREAT OF EXILE…
With time running out until he was deported back to Canada, Tyler Alkins had to start a new business or be forced to leave the place he called home in Nashville, TN. So he decided to do what he always dreamed; make wine. Though Tennessee is better known for whiskey, Tyler saw an opportunity to create a wine that was approachable in its taste, price, and presentation. So he recruited some of the most well-known winemakers from Italy and California to teach him processes perfected over centuries to create a wine that’s expertly crafted and perfectly chuggable. he wine they create together is brought back to Nashville where it is finished and bottled or canned locally in a winery that Tyler and the small team built in an abandoned car garage less than a mile from downtown originally called Nashville Urban Winery.
In March of 2020 a tornado ripped through Nashville Urban Winery and destroyed the bar/shop side of the winery. After almost two years and a complete overhaul of the building; Tyler decided to name the bar after the wine made inside. Love and Exile Bar was born in September of 2021 and is now a restaurant + bar, event space, winery that sells the full line of Love and Exile wines.

Each starts with naturally fermented dough – a blend of unique & distinctive artisanal flours with fermentation assistance from a proprietary yeast strain cultivated from local TN wildflowers and Texas Hill Country. Beverage program follows the same approach offering custom cocktails plus classic spritzes, Negronis, bourbon, & tequila cocktails, accompanied by a strong amari program & a focused list of wines & local beers. Industrial materials meet warmth & texture with black checkered tablecloths, plates in the color of motor oil, & candlelight that fills the room each evening. Food Menu

ABOUT:
Founder and restaurateur Shane Nasby named the restaurant in honor of his late grandpa, Cledis Nolen, who owned and operated the Midway Cafe in Charlottesville, Indiana throughout Shane’s childhood. Inspired by his memories of growing up in a small town, Shane designed Cledis as an homage to a slower and simpler time when sharing a meal at a local restaurant was a way for neighbors to stay connected with one another.

Shane also hopes to carry on his grandpa’s legacy of unwavering kindness and generosity. Going beyond serving great food, Cledis is on a mission to combat hunger and hopelessness in our city. We proudly partner with People Loving Nashville and give our time and resources toward their programs which offer relief, relationship, and restoration for our hungry and unhoused neighbors.

Dining Around Town: Casual Chain Crawl @ Captain D's

Captain D's

ABOUT from web:
"At our Nashville, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D's Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D's Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D's was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time."
