Volunteer: Second Harvest Food Bank

Details + RSVP Here!

Did you know... according to an article published by Higher Perspective, one of the best ways to make yourself feel happier is to help others. In fact, 100 hours per year (or two hours per week) is the optimal time we should each be dedicating to helping others in order to enrich our own lives.

What better way to help others than by volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank!

ABOUT:

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to the food and resources people in our community need to thrive. For nearly 50 years, we have welcomed our neighbors with radical hospitality, empowering them to live free from the daily burden of food insecurity. We prioritize innovation and remain committed to sustainability as we strive for a future where everyone is food secure, and no food is wasted.

IMPORTANT INFO;

ALL warehouse volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes. Volunteers wearing sandals or flip-flops will not be allowed to volunteer.

Cold/Dry projects are always subject to change due to the needs of the food bank. You will be notified if any changes are made.

We have jackets and gloves available onsite, but please have everyone bring cozy layers if you are scheduled in our Cold Food Sort.

Bags, purses and backpacks are not allowed in the warehouse. Lockers are available, or we request that you leave these items in a locked vehicle.

In efforts to remain as environmentally friendly as possible, we encourage volunteers to bring their own reusable water bottle.
