Did you know... according to an article published by Higher Perspective, one of the best ways to make yourself feel happier is to help others. In fact, 100 hours per year (or two hours per week) is the optimal time we should each be dedicating to helping others in order to enrich our own lives.
What better way to help others than by volunteering? This time, we are helping out Friends of Shelby with their 12th Annual Weed Wrangle!

ABOUT from web:
Founded in 2008, Friends of Shelby is a private, nonprofit organization working to preserve, enhance, and promote Shelby Park and Bottoms for everyone to appreciate and protect. We work to protect the natural and historical integrity of the area by supporting appropriate recreational activities, maintaining and enhancing its features, promoting programs that inspire appreciation and conservation of the Park and Bottoms, and advocating for a level playing field for the various user groups.
*Weed Wrangle is a one-day, area-wide, volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from non-native invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful trees, vines, and flowering plants. More information on Weed Wrangle can be found here https://www.weedwrangle.org/*
What will volunteers be doing at this event?
Volunteers will be removing invasive plant species from the forest in Shelby Park and Bottoms. This process may be relatively strenuous, as we'll be bending and pulling plants in the forest while using landscaping tools.
LOCATION:
If you sign up for this event, you will receive a reminder email before the event with specific instructions regarding exact location & parking and any other necessary information.
