Dining Around Town: Jack Cawthon's Bar-B-Que

Details

As we know Nashville has gained a reputation as a foodie haven. Jack Cawthon's Bar-B-Que may be listed as the 5th, 8th and 10th best BBQ spots in Nashville, but several folks in this group have argued it is the best... so we're checking it out!

ABOUT from web:
In 2013 a 3rd location opened at 1601 Charlotte Ave., at the foot of Capital Hill on the corner of McMillin St & 16th Ave. west off I-40 & I-65. Located on the historic site of what once was a corner of the first State Penitentiary of Tennessee, 1831-1898. For this location, Jack chose to use and trademark his full name, Jack Cawthon’s Bar-B-Que, taking it back to the early days of Nashville when neighborhood bar-b-que joints used the proprietor's full name.

MENU:
Jack’s Bar-B-Que serves Tennessee pork shoulder, beef brisket, turkey, ribs, smoked sausage and smoked chicken. Patrons can choose from an array of traditional sides including baked beans, green beans, corn, baked apples, cole slaw and potato salad, and crowd favorite mac and cheese along with dessert options of chess pie or fudge pie.
