Meetups Dos & Don’ts

With so many folks new to Meetup and events, figured it would be helpful to outline some Dos and Don’ts.

This is by no means an exhaustive list… and I’ll update as more things come up.

Feel free to make suggestions too!

DOs:
- Update your RSVP
- Communicate if you’re running late (either host or event discussion)
- Post when you arrive if someone hasn’t posted already
- Engage with community via social platforms between meetups (Meetup, FB, Insta + Web)
- Make suggestions for other events
- Be patient with service industry folks when we have a big group

DON’Ts:
- Come with a mission to date
- Connect with someone on Meetup before you’ve met
- Don’t pressure anyone to share information (ex. Where they live or phone number)
- Be disrespectful to others 
- Be overly negative
- Talk politics or religion
